Here is proof that Megan knows how to sleep. These are her two favorite positions to sleep in: "Touchdown" and "O'le"
Last night Megan decided she wanted to eat all night long. She finally went to bed around 11:00, she started eating again at 1:30, then again 4:03, then again at 6:14, then again at 8:00. Normally she eats at 2:00 then again at 6:00. She wasn't fussy, just hungry.
I was told that week 6 is the time when babies get really fussy and we are right on time for that. Plus Megan has a stuffy nose, so I'm sure that isn't helping. I think this is why babies are so cute because if they weren't it would be really frustrating getting up that often.
Because I was only sleeping about an hour between feedings, around the 6:00 feeding I was starting to get really confused. When I would wake up I couldn't remember where Megan was because I couldn't remember putting her back in her crib. Then Mark took Megan down stairs around 8:30 and I woke up around 10:00 with Baron kicking his legs and all I was thinking was, "Why did Mark bring Megan back upstairs and put her in bed with me?" Then I finally came to when Baron dropped this lovely wet and slimy duck on my head. Yep, it was an interesting morning.
A more detailed look into our everyday life. With 2 kids, 1 dog and an adopted turtle, we never really know what interesting things will happen, but we wanted to share them.

I'm a big girl
Megan had a doctors appointment today so we could see how much she has grown, plus we had to watch her have her first shot (not fun to watch.) Megan is now 9lbs 8oz her height is 21 1/4 inches and her head size is 14 1/2 inches. All of those measurements put her in the 75th percentile on the growth chart (when she was born she was in the 50th percentile.) The doctor is very pleased with her growth and impressed on how strong her neck is.
Here is Megan taking her first bottle. She started acting funny when I tried to nurse her so we had to get food in her, hence the bottle (which is filled with breast milk) We both thought it would take her a while to get used to a bottle, but she didn't fuss at all.

Meet my friend Zoe
Our friends Todd and Timea were up from Florida for a visit because they wanted to introduce everyone to their daughter Zoe. Zoe was born July 20th, so it was fun to see what Megan will be able to do in a month. Zoe was filled with smiles and had fun reacting to facial expressions.
Here are the two beautiful girls. They were too young to play with each other, but I think they knew that there was another baby in the room. There is only a month difference between them, but in this picture Megan looks so tiny!

Should I go one size bigger???
While Mark was golfing Sunday morning, Megan asked if she could wear something out of my closet because she was looking for something special to wear. Of course I said, "Yes Megan, you can wear whatever you want." This is what she chose to wear. She has good taste doesn't she!?!
P.S. Mark doesn't know I took this picture, or that I put it on this blog. Oops!

Why does my brother have a wet nose?
I just got done feeding Megan when Baron came up and licked her on her head, which didn't even phase her. Normally he does a "drive by licking" but this time he stopped and put his head on her pillow. This is the first picture of her and Baron together. Little does he know that pretty soon she will be pulling his ears and trying to ride him.
Who do I root for???
Megan spent the day on Mark's lap watching way too many college football games. So in an attempt to persuade her to root for Michigan he made her wear his hat. But we all know that soon enough she will show her true colors, Scarlet and Gray (Ohio State)
Now this is a team the whole family can root for, Go Tigers!

I'm a month old today!
Well it has been a month already and Megan is growing so fast! She is still a well behaved baby, sleeping 3-4 hours at a time and only cries when she needs food, a diaper change or has a gas bubble. She has just started to make grunting noises and some cooing sounds. She loves to lay in her crib and talk to her friends, she has a lamb on her left and a frog on her right (when her eyes get a little stronger she will see that she has 6 friends around her crib.) Another thing she started to do when she is awake is sticking out her tongue. It is very cute! Next week when she goes to the doctor we will know how big she has grown.
Today I took the first picture next to Megan's elephant. I will take this same picture each month so everyone can see how much she has grown compared to the elephant.
At first she didn't like posing with the elephant, but them she snuggled into his soft fur and she was very comfortable. The elephant is a great floor pillow that I couldn't pass up because it is so soft.
HELP!!! This muppet is trying to eat me!

Look I'm 4 weeks old!
She looks pretty happy to turn 4 weeks old. Although she wasn't to sure she like being on the ground, we did get a few pictures where she wasn't crying (although you can blame that on a gas bubble that wouldn't go away)
Megan has a pretty powerful kick, so she likes to "stand" to work her muscles. There is a cupcake on the front of this shirt, so Mark and I call her our "cupcake" when she wears it.

Where's the Baby?
The first time we tried to put Megan in her front carrier she sort of disappeared. The carrier said it was for babies 5 lbs. and up, but Megan was over 7 lbs. when we took this picture, and as you can see she is looking out the arm holes! Mark had a fun time trying to get her out because she was down so low. We'll try again we she is a little bigger
This "little" piggy!
Fun in the car seat
Megan got these sunglasses as a gift, but I think it will be a while before they really fit her. But I couldn't pass up the photo opportunity.
We were taking a walk and stop by a friend's house and when she needed to got back in her car seat she refused to stretch her legs out. Because we were walking I didn't force her to stretch her legs out, but I did take a picture!
