Thanksgiving with a little bit of Christmas

Soups on! While the big meal was being prepared we had yummy yummy squash soup to hold us over. Megan was soaking up Conary time all weekend.

Kelsey Bells was in doggie heaven all weekend. Bruce Wallaby, Lisa and Jesper's puppy got to come to family Thanksgiving too! We all loved him...except Baron. He was scared of Bruce, even though Baron could eat Bruce if he really wanted to.

Grandma-great soaking up her Joey time. He slept for a long time in her arms :)

I think there my have been and air hockey tournament going on all weekend. All of the cousins had fun playing together.

Too bad no one likes Joey. Megan wanted to show Conary that she has her own "Tim Bit" hockey jersey to go with his old jersey. Conary wanted to see if he could still fit in his old jersey...he could...sort of. Not bad considering he is a hockey goalie so it was extra big to fit over the pads.

Megan in a pretty dress that her cousins used to wear opening up a hockey goal from Uncle Donnie. She was very excited for this gift.

Who wants this gift? :)

I think everyone had a good "Christmas"

Jason and Danielle were here!!!

One thing Megan was super excited to do when Uncle Jason came was to go ice skating. She could not wait to skate with him. During this skating trip was also the first time Megan got up off the ice all by herself. But she didn't want to fall, she sat on the ice then showed us she could get up.

Gifts!?!? Megan was more than willing to help Joey open his gift.

Just playing with Aunt Danielle.

Megan was by Jason's side almost the whole visit. She just wanted to soak up as much time with him as possible. The adults wanted to talk and visit so we had to compromise by saying Megan could sit and color by Jason, but she had to let us talk.

I love love love, how Megan wouldn't let go of Jason's hand.

Happy talky-talky

Joey is very happy and playful when he gets up in the morning and our routine starts with him in he gym so I can fix breakfast for Megan and myself. On this morning I was doing a couple chores because Joey was content just playing. When I came up from the basement all I could hear was Joey talking Megan's ear off. So I grabbed the camera and this is what I got. I think it is adorable!

Hokey and Tu-tus

I believe this is week 7 and they starting working with the puck. Megan is really good and getting in position (#57 with pink on her helmet) I think she spent more time in the squat position then skating this week. She was so happy that she got to shoot the puck, it was her goal for the week :)

This is what Joey does most hockey morning, but I guess it makes sense because I have to wake him up to get him fed and dressed before we have to leave for the rink. But when he is awake he will not take his eyes off the ice,

It was picture day! Can't wait to get her pictures back. When they took her solo pictures they asked her to give them an "angry" face and they said Megan just smiled even bigger :)

Part of the instructional group.

Then at the Men's Varsity hockey game, Megan and her friend Grace had to pose with Bruiser, the Adrian mascot.

It is funny to hear all of the comments these 2 girls get when they wear their tu-tus with their hockey jerseys. Lots of "oh they are so cute" or "I love it, a little girly and a little tough" Both of them love their outfits and have worn them to almost every home game.

Megan's first time shooting the puck. Yes, she is shooting left handed, but her coach is left handed, monkey-see monkey-do. We have been working on it so she shoots the correct way.

Halloween (a little late)

Rosemary and Megan bowling at the Country Club Halloween party. I think I saw more fairy costumes this year, here are just 2 of many!

Papa and his baby moo-moo cow! Yes, I know baby cows are called a calf, but baby moo-moo is what Megan used to call them and it just stuck.

Yeah, I think she likes him.

After dinner at the Barber house, it was time for this large group to go trick-or-treating. 3 fairies in this group!

Having fun and being very polite, she never forgot a "thank you."

Joey was with us too! And no, I did not collect candy for him!

Running to get to the next house. After about 10 houses I don't think too many kids had energy to run anymore. But skipping houses was not an option for them so the slowly kept going. (Their choice, not ours)

Holding hands with Grace, a friend from hockey.

Cow Down!

After t&t Joey we needed to get pictures of Joey born Aug 5th with Sophie and Oliver born Aug 8th (Owen and Gracie Barber's twin cousins)
There are all 3 babies. Oliver and Joey looked very similar and were very confused when they looked at each other. It was fun seeing 3 babies in 1 place.

Carpenter Farms 2011

This year Megan made multiple trips to Carpenter Farms, she loves going there. So when we brought Grandma Berthold with us, Megan had to take Grandma through the maze right away.

Then off to pet the animals. When Megan went to pet this pig, she scared him when she touched him. Right after she scared him she said, "Oh it's ok piggy, it's just me Megan." I thought that was very cute.

Next were the moo-moo cows, I believe Megan walked over to them and said,"My brother is going to be you for Halloween." Yep, she's cute!

And a donkey...oh my!

Then into the straw pit where Megan swung from the rope multiple times.

But she really loved climbing on the straw bales and jumping into the well padded straw floor/piles. She could not get enough of jumping into the straw. I liked watching her do this better than when she is jumping from our furniture onto the little tiny pillow she puts on the floor for padding.

I tried to get and action shot, but I think I was also holding Joey and trying to stay out of Megan's flight path. I mean I'm good, but not that good!

I thought the tractor in the background was perfect! Joey was sound asleep and it was very windy, so I just took quick pictures. But both Megan and Joey had on matching pumpkin shirts...they were very cute!

Little tiny Megan, HUGE pumpkin! Ok so the perspective might be off a little, but still a fun picture. The pumpkin was big, just not that big.

Just a quick post.

I promised I was going to d a better job at keeping the blog updated. So here is just a cute picture of Megan and Joey enjoying the beautiful fall weather. I have adorable fall/Halloween pictures to post, but I am just way too tired to get them posted tonight. For the past few days Joey has been eating every 2 hours and I am a walking zombie. The only good thing is that he is still sleeping great at night and if I could get my body on his schedule everything would be great, but since I can't go to bed when he does, this week has been draining. (The only time I have to relax and not hear "Mommy" every 5 mins, or clean up spit up is when the kids are sleeping. So for my mental health, I have to zone out for a bit with some "Real Housewives" before I can sleep)

Coming Soon: Carpenter Farm pictures, Halloween pictures and adorable pictures from the first Adrian College hockey game this year.

Hockey 101 for Megan

Megan sits watching all of the other kids getting their hockey gear on. Mark has gotten really good at quickly getting her gear on, which comes in handy on the early mornings when the alarms don't go off!

Megan watching the Zamboni clean the ice before her first hockey practice. A.K.A. the first time Megan would try to skate without holding our hand AND in full hockey gear!

She didn't want to let go of Mark's hand so a coach came over to help her. Mark quickly got of the ice and Megan has been fine ever since.

Megan following directions from Coach Nick. (last one still standing)

Here is Megan skating during the first week of practice. I was so proud of her! She was all smiles.

She needed a break after that long skate!

She was ready to come off of the ice a few minutes early, but still all smiles! Her skates weren't staying on so she had to work extra hard and the coaches kept trying to tighten them. After week 1, Megan needed "new" ice skates.

Week 2: Megan's "new" skates didn't have long enough laces so her ankles were very wobbly. Of course it was the week when lots of people came to watch her...she sat most of the time.

Week 3: New skates, new pink laces and she was ready to go! Here she is skating around the net, following her coach where ever he went.

Going into week 4, Megan set a goal of trying to skate the whole time without holding onto anyone. She did it!!! And I think she told everyone she cold that she skated without holding onto anyone :)

After skating most of the time, she needed to rest next to her friend Grace. I think they are the only girls on the ice during this skating time.

Here (should have been) a video of Megan skating during the fourth week of hockey, nice improvement huh!?! It was after this success that Megan really starting liking hockey practice. She is a very proud girl and was starting to get frustrated but now she has the hang of things and loves going. She said her next goal is to shoot a puck, hopefully before week ten, this will happen! The video was too long. I will take a short video next week to post so you can see her improvement.

TIGER PICTURES!!!

Here is Joey's first set of Tiger pictures. He was 4 days old and weighed 7lbs. 9oz. I love love love this picture, he was still so curled up and little.

Look at those bright eyes, not bad for being 4 days old!

All stretched out by the time I took his 1 month pictures. He weighed 10lb 9oz. Yep, you read that right, he gained 3 pounds in one month!

He wasn't really happy about this photo shoot, so we had to take a break to come back to try again. He was much happier the second time.

For his 2 month tiger pictures, I had a hard time getting him to lay still because he was so happy and giggly :) So some pictures looks very goofy because they would mid-laugh.

At his 2 month well-baby visit Joey weighed 12lbs 2oz, which I thought was big for a 2 month old, but he was in the 50th percentile for head, length and weight. He just seems so big because Megan was so little (1oth percentile).

This was the best picture I could get. All of the other pictures he had his mouth wide open because he was laughing so much. It was fun and he loved his soft tiger.

Joey is growing fast and learning new things everyday. He has been able to hold his head up since about the moment he was born. He is "talking" like crazy and loves to grin from ear to ear when he recognizes a face he knows. He loves watching Megan play and after a few weeks he now loves taking bathes. Joey is a great sleeper and eats well. For the most part he is a very easy going baby just like Megan was. He only cries when he is hungry and when his belly bugs him, most of the time is is all smiles or is sleeping :)

I don't know about you, but I think they are pretty cute!
