Father's Day 2014

Call us simple, call us boring, call us cheap...our family is not big on gift giving.  We are fortunate that we have what we need, get to do things we like and we can buy fun things when we want, but for us, the best gift are the simple things. For Father's Day, the kids and I made Mark, Dad, Nene, homemade cinnamon rolls.

Megan was already in bed, but Joey wanted to help me make the dough.

"It too loud, Momma!"

Megan helped me roll the dough the next morning. (Maple leaf tattoo is from her awesome Field Day the day before.)

Ah, the breakfast of champions...yogurt with fresh fruit (because we are fancy like that!) and homemade cinnamon rolls WITH bacon! For the record: I only added bacon to 2 rolls because there is such a thing as too much bacon!

Then it was off to Mark's parents house to relax.  The kids got to test out the coolest pool noodles ever, which are just as much fun on land as in the water!

Love it!

Then it was rush rush rush to eat dinner, pack up swim gear and hit the road! NASCAR always has a race on Father's Day at MIS...which happens to be about 10 miles from this very relaxing spot. "The locals" know better than to be on the roads when the race is over. About 250,000 people all leaving at once makes traffic a little backed up!
